A Serene and Tranquil Visit For Our Patients

Visits to hospitals and clinics are not something any of us like. But it is a place which none of us in our lives sooner or later can avoid. Be it a tooth ache or an organ transplant, we need to go to a hospital or a clinic and take care of ourselves.

These visits can be tiring and time consuming. We need to fix appointments, and reach well before time. Then there is a tendency to check every five minutes if it is our turn. If not impatience, it is the pain which does not let one sit comfortably. Here is a system which tries to give some comfort to the patients and ease their difficulties.

This would be done by installing Patient Kiosk. It is a touch based self service wherein patients can enter their details as and when they arrive.

Why Patient Kiosk?

  • It reduces the waiting time as opposed to the long queues
  • No paper work because everything is automatic
  • Saves manpower and the staff can concentrate on other important things than running after patients.
  • Saves the patients of having to discuss their or talk out loud of their problems
  • It is multilingual and diminishes the language boundaries

The patient need not stand in long lines to get them registered. They need not fill long forms bout their personal or medical information. Not everyone is an extrovert or comfortable to talk about their problems and not everyone is patient enough to hear it. Also no one is required to manually register people and check their details, compiling and filling their information on the computer. Thus it is a user friendly interface which leads to a win-win situation for both the clinic and the patient.

The Waiting Room Screens is another feature making lives easier. There would be screens which would show the patients’ names and the room numbers or the location they need to go to. It would make the place less noisy and thus more comfortable for the ones waiting. No one likes a lot of hustle and bustle and we all look forward to a comfortable and serene visit. The screens can further be assisted with audio announcements. The screens can serve a multipurpose by giving more information on health. There could be videos talking about care and health when they would not be displaying names.

Thus in a way it becomes a Patient Self Service which works really well in today’s world where people want minimum interaction with other people and are concerned with their own work. It is fast and user friendly. The generation today wants everything technology based and this provides them with this service. The personal information can be easily updated and information wanted, easily received.
