What is HLTAID003 Provide First Aid?

First aid courses require no prerequisites except foundation skills of literacy, language, and numeric skills to make oral communication and quick decision making processes possible during emergency response services. Any person above 18 years of age can join the course.

The 2-day course is a mix of self-study and classroom-based theory as well as practical training, spanning across 15 hours.

During the course, participants need to demonstrate the practical skills learnt, analyze case studies, participate in role plays, and pass a written quiz. On these bases, the participants will be assessed.

According to Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, training of first aid courses in Penrith must be renewed every 3 years and CPR component must be renewed every 1 year. On its successful completion, Statement of Attainment will be issued to the candidate in HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. This statement will stand valid nationwide.
