The Swtor Pax Prime Make-up Livestream eventually came at the appointed time on August 26. Although Bioware has been talking about companions in new expansion for multiple times, there are less meaningful points, especially for the concern about how the previous effort matters in further steps, and what take for a companion to leave players. For example, Lana is said to be permanent companion, but they also said that companions may leave if players do actions they don't approve of or whatnot. It is not sure if it means players can't piss her off badly enough to get rid of her, or just that she'll stick around until players do, and not have a fixed story exit.

On top of that, there are also some other questions that cannot get an answer. For example, will Lana has a different body type, as she sort of appears to; are there companions who simply won't be coming back and are only available in this lame "non-canon" way? Will the companions be keeping their abilities? HK's assassinate? Scourge's tank heals? There are so many concerns, which never relate to a story spoiler, but remain mysterious.
