Final Fantasy XV will see a simultaneous worldwide release

Square Enix will announce the release date of Final Fantasy XV at a “special event” in March.The news comes from the game’s Active Time Report panel at PAX in Seattle today, where director Hajime Tabata confirmed that the game will indeed arrive in 2016, but that the team isn’t ready to announce the specific date just yet. No other information about the event was announced.

Speaking to IGN, Tabata also confirmed that an additional Active Time Report will take place in Japan during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show and will contain more information on two characters: Luna and Regis (the father of main character Noctis).

It’s sort of amazing how only two changes helped to change the entire feel of the demo in a great way. It shows that Final Fantasy XV is shaping up to be something that puts fans at the forefront of development. In a time where it’s exceedingly easy to disregard complaints of what is often considered a “vocal minority,” it was a pleasant feeling to play the result of Square Enix giving grievances their due diligence.

Final Fantasy XV looks beautiful, and it now plays beautifully. Here’s to hoping that Square Enix keeps up the pattern and pays attention to their fans as they continue to build one of the most highly anticipated RPGs in a long time.

At PAX Prime this weekend, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata announced that Square Enix would be holding a major event in March 2016. At this event he said big announcements would be made, including the reveal of Final Fantasy XV’s much anticipated release date.

Additionally, Square Enix will release more details on the game’s development through other small events and live streams leading up to their major March 2016 announcement. Again, Hajime Tabata reconfirmed that the game will release sometime in 2016.
