Who remembers football training on Sunday mornings? Come rain or shine, you were out on that pitch, kicking the ball around, running warm-up trials, and thoroughly enjoying yourselves. You were having the time of your lives. And who remembers the trials and tribulations of the football goal nets?

At the time, attaching these to the goal posts may have been a chore, and if you could, you'd try and get out of participating. But who looks back on those times with fond memories? Who raises a smile as one particular time comes to mind that made you laugh? How about all the times you had to struggle to put the net up? The goal post would have towered above you, and you would have struggled. You would have had to jump up and cling to the post while you attached the net, or maybe you sat on a friend's shoulders to connect it?

Then there were the times when you were playing and it would be an old net that had been put up. How many times did you score a goal and the ball rolled straight through a hole and out the other side? Or maybe there were times when trying to take the net down? Again, most of you would have tried to scarper back to the changing rooms, wanting to get out of the job. The pegs used to hold the net down would have been staked too deep into the ground and you would struggle with freezing fingers to pull them out. You would again have to cling to the post to unclip the net, or sit on your friend's shoulders, and there would always be one annoying piece of net that would get caught on a loose screw on the post itself.
