1. UGC Exam Guidelines: As per the latest UGC exam guidelines 2021, all offline exams will be cancelled in view of the pandemic situation. The UGC exam guidelines will be applicable to IITs, IIITs, NITs, Central Universities, etc. However, Education Ministry had said that decisions on examinations will be reviewed in June 2021. As per the UGC Notice, “Keeping in view the current scenario of COVID-19, it is requested that Higher Education Institutions may keep the offline examinations in abeyance during May to avoid physical gathering at the campuses and also provide much-needed relief to students, faculty, and staff.”
2. NTA UGC NET 2021 Exam: The NTA UGC NET 2021 exam has already been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The exam will be conducted in CBT mode. It has two papers and both the papers comprise objective type questions. Candidates will have three hours and there will be no break between papers.
3. National Testing Agency: National Testing Agency, an Indian government agency, was founded in 2017 by the Union Council of Ministers. It has been “established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions”. NTA is responsible for conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET), Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test -Undergraduate (NEET UG) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
4. UGC NET 2021 Exam Dates: The UGC-NET 2021 exam dates are yet to be announced by NTA. The National Testing Agency was supposed to conduct the UGC NET December 2020 cycle in May 2021. However, the second wave of COVID-19 has again thwarted the plan. The Agency will release the official notification on the UGC NET website.
5. NET Exam 2021 Notification: The National Testing Agency released the official NET exam 2021 notification on 2^nd February. You can visit the official website to access the PDF notification. It contains all essential information such as important dates, exam pattern & syllabus, eligibility criteria and application process. As per the notification, the NET exam was supposed to be conducted from 2^nd May to 17^th May 2021.
