We know that you like to use essential oils aromatherapy spray in your day-to-day life, but before you invest your money in such expensive oils, you should know what aromatherapy actually is. Aromatherapy is nothing but the therapeutic use of essential oils and other natural plant materials to improve a person’s physical, mental health mood and energy.

Aromatherapy always seeks to enhance an individual’s emotional, physiological, cognitive and psychological well-being through the controlled use of pure essential oils and many other aromatic plant compounds. These oils are naturally extracted and are diluted with some carrier oil or cream, massaged onto a person’s skin and applied topically. The aroma from these oils may also be inhaled by a person directly. Some other applications of essential oils aromatherapy spray will include warm bath, adding oils to cold compress to be placed on the skin, or using essential oils with the help of an oil diffuser.

While some oils may have specific benefits, aromatherapy is not targeted for any specific use. The approach aims to promote a holistic healing by supporting the body’s natural ability to regain balance and recuperate from health-related setbacks. Aromatherapy is also offered as a type of alternative medicine or as a complementary therapy in company with a more established approach. It is also common for aromatherapy and this is also incorporated in certain types of massage therapy.

The working of aromatherapy

We have two major theories that attempt to explain the aromatherapy mechanism. The first theory claims that the essential oils are absorbed by the skin and into the somatic tissues. When these oils are absorbed in the skin, it may activate the skin’s thermal receptors and destroy fungi, viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms. Some experts also believe that these oils have anti-inflammatory properties and they provide soothing relief from arthritis, burns and muscular pain.

There is a second theory that says essential oils stimulate the olfactory nerves and they send signals to the brain’s limbic system. Which is a complex neutral network that is closely associated with emotions, memories and instincts? This kind of stimulation is also believed to trigger the release of chemicals contributing to feelings of relaxation, calmness or more soothing stimulation.

Aromatherapy has plenty of mental benefits. Some experts believe that only inhaling these oils are going to help you with mental problems. The soothing fragrance of such aromatherapy oils calm down the nervous system and the person feels a lot of difference after being massaged by the aromatherapy oils.
