All things about UBER service

Uber Business model

To travelers, Uber is primarily a taxi service with non-commercial drivers. It is mainly a referral service. The Uber Android, iOS or Windows Phone app connects riders with drivers. A traveler, using a GPS enabled smartphone (loaded with the Uber App) can connect with the closest private driver, using Uber’s driver matching algorithm. In addition, Uber’s payment process is cashless, they charge the traveler’s credit card, taking a comission of between 5% to 30% - depending on the city and Uber service, the rest is direct deposited into the driver’s account: All this happens in the background and is totally cashless.

Uber also offers numerous levels of service: The facility’s lowest-cost option, UberX, runs in average cars like the Toyota Prius. Uber Black is the business’s original service, which is the luxury service that runs in high-end city cars with expert Uber partners and driver. Uber SUV is exactly what it sounds like: The passenger is charged a premium for a larger vehicle (SUV). Uber LUX is the top-of-the-line option, working in the poshest rides like Porsche Panameras & BMW 7 series cars.

At least 18% of Uber partner drivers in the US are past taxi drivers (this number varies for other countries). These drivers that drive with the Uber system have their own businesses and have schedule flexibility. In addition to the afore-mentioned, they make more money compared to the vanilla Taxi driver jobs. Compared to their former taxi industry jobs (essentially regulated by taxi industry special interest groups), the difference is definitely evident.

If you want to become an Uber driver, you might be asking:

  • What are the detailed steps to become an Uber driver?
  • What are the requirements to become an Uber driver?
  • How old do I have to be,to become an Uber driver?
  • What service should I join (uberX? Uber Black? Uber XL? and Uber LUX)
