The Sunscreen Film Festival WEST is presented by the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Film Society Inc. a non-profit 501(c) (3) and other Self-governing sponsors committed to education, commercial development, notifying the community about the skill of visual storytelling, increasing prospects for film makers to develop their art and craft, and increasing their consciousness and support of film making as a cultural and economic strength.

The SSFFW Bijou series is an ongoing screening series that pays respect to the BIJOU theatre. The "Bijou" was a significant Hermosa Landmark that generally displayed Indie Films. Thus, the Indie world has totally changed & the Bijou series will clinch the spirit of indie storytelling through all kinds of formats, genres & running times. Sunscreen is one of only a few film festivals countrywide that is backed and recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In the year 2009, Movie Maker magazine nominated Sunscreen as one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” throughout the country. The Sunscreen Film Festival is dedicated to educating and entertaining the public on the art of visual storytelling. By increasing the public's awareness and support of local filmmakers we are creating a cultural and economic asset to our community. We know that by facilitating & building a film festival SSFFW will provide storytellers a venue to efficiently tell their stories in various formats; whether it’s animated, scripted, unscripted or short and now in web series as well. In preparation for the SSFFW in October, the group will host Meet up events for people interested in networking, skill development, and general film media enthusiasts. It will be held from 2^nd of October 2015 till 4^th of October 2015 at 710 Pier Ave Hermosa Beach, CA. Participate in fun events that support the mission of the festival and meet like-minded individuals. Day Passes, VIP Passes and Block Passes are available now. You will be required to pay .00 to attend all screenings, parties and panels on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. You will be required to pay 0.00 to attend all screenings, parties and panels. Also Percentage of proceeds will be going to Hermosa Beach Education Foundation. Block Passes can be availed for .00.

For this, you will be required to attend screenings, parties and panels individually. If you want to enjoy the festival to the fullest, you are recommended to go for the VIP Passes.
