Looking For Fall Car Care Tips?

Electric cars are hot these days. The only problem is you can't really buy one. There are a few available, but they're very expensive. As a result, a lot of people are taking their gas-powered car and doing an electric cars conversion. You just need to buy an electric cars conversion kit.

Although this is quite true, as surely, no carmaker will release an EV that can last for an "unimaginable" years, carmakers can assure you that EV batteries can last up to 10 years or more.

On the downside, the Prius currently doesn't come with a "plug in" option. That means you can't plug it into an electric outlet to charge its battery. However, Toyota is partnering with the EV company, Tesla, to develop a plug-in model that will be available in 2012.

Like all present-day Electric Vehicles it's biggest downside is the range it can travel before needing to be recharged. You may be lucky to get one hundred miles on a battery-full.

What does this involve? You simply need to remove the internal combustion engine of your regular car and put in an electric motor and batteries. That's it. When you're done you'll be driving a zero-emissions vehicle that costs far less than anything using gas.

The electric transport dogs. For some reason, EVs have suffered over the years from design dregs. Why anybody would bother to mess with a Commuta Car or 1980s vintage Ford Escort is beyond us. But be advised that many used EVs fall into this class. Thank goodness the people at Tesla Motors recognized this and did something about it!

There are reports by the department of energy in the US that say that Americans can upgrade 70% of their existing vehicles into all electric and not change the grid at all. No new power stations need to be built; the existing grid infrastructure will cope. I think we can assume we would be similar in capacity if not better as we have quite good grid infrastructures' here in Australia.

But what can we expect in the near future? Well, most of the biggest car companies are investing huge amount of money in an electric future. They cannot be all wrong right? It is the car of the future. That is undeniable. The "technological boom" will soon allow a 500 miles range with new advanced batteries, and 3 to 5 minutes charging time for a full recharge. Also, some apps will help you find charging stations and show you where to park for the best electric experience you will ever have.
