San Mateo Real Estate

Location

San Mateo is located smack dab in between San Jose and San Francisco so for many, this makes it a great intermediate location with access to a lot of different areas and options while not being in the heart of either city.

Price

Living in San Mateo can be at either end of the price spectrum. There is a wide range of real estate price ranges depending on what suburb or neighborhood you are looking into. This is a place where you can find somewhere to live that fits almost any budget.

Vibe

Downtown San Mateo is full of great food, coffee and plenty of things to do. It gives off a diverse vibe since there are so many different types of people in different stages of life that gravitate towards this area. There is anyone from families and retirees to students.

Monterey Real Estate

Location

Monterey is the furthest south of the three of these cities and quite a hike away from the big cities of Northern California. Being right on the water makes it a prime location for surfing and tourism all year long.

It is known for being a more affordable area to live in and although it is known for being pretty touristy, the city has done a good job keeping the cost of living lower here than much of the rest of the state.

Vibe

Monterey gives off small beach town vibes while being a pretty large city. The traffic can get pretty heavy, and there are a lot of great options for things to do and see around town so although it may seem small it definitely has quite a bustle to it

Mountain View Real Estate

Location

This is the most Northern of the options and also the furthest inland. It is still near the various bays that are connected to the San Francisco area, but it is an hour or two from the city.

Price

The Mountain View area is higher end suburbia where much of silicon valley success stories have gone to retire and raise families, so the cost of living along with the housing prices are much higher here than the other two areas.

Vibe

This area definitely has a cool, relaxed and family oriented vibe to it. They are known for their phenomenal schools as well as a good place to retire.
