Read more Ystad Read more Åstorp Read more Örkelljunga Örkelljunga is located in a beautiful area in the heart of Skåne. The town is popular with commuters and the region has strong growth numbers. Örkelljunga Örkelljunga is surrounded by a beautiful landscape near the inland lakes in the region and is located in the central, north-western Skåne, near the border to Småland and Halland. Thanks to excellent communications, the municipality is popular amongst people commuting to the north of Skåne. Population growth and business climate fastighetsfond The population is approximately 9 700 and is forecasted to increase by 1 100 due to the expectation of new residential areas. Örkelljunga has the third lowest income tax in the country and many job openings, these are all good signs of a healthy economy. The four largest companies, all operating within different business areas, employ a fifth of the total workforce in the municipality. A total of more than 400 companies, of which 72 % are located in the private sector, with more than 3 700 employees are active in the municipality. The largest employer is the municipality of Örkelljunga. Other important business areas include manufacturing, commerce/communication and healthcare. The geographic location as well as good communications including the E4 road, that runs through the municipality, means excellent commuting possibilities. The port of Helsingborg as well as the airport in Ängelholm and the railway Stambanan, are all within a half hour drive from Örkelljunga. There are currently no railway tracks that run all the way to Örkelljunga, but this could change if future plans of a Europatåg is realized. Invest in Swedish residential properties The future The planning of new residential property in Örkelljunga is extensive and includes new areas with villas near a few of the lakes in the municipality, as well as senior housing in the central parts of the city. Örkelljunga is a popular region for both recreational purposes (popular amongst wealthy Danish people) and families commuting to cities such as Helsingborg. The shortage of housing in the municipality means low vacancies in the property Hagtornet that Svenska Bostadsfonden acquired during the spring of 2008.
