Are Hair Extensions Permanent?

1 Hair extensions, also called hair weaves or artificial hair attachments, add fullness and length to ordinary human hair by adding it to another's scalp. Hair extensions can be sewn in, glued in, clipped or glued on synthetic hair by inserting additional natural or artificial hair into the scalp via a hair attachable clip, hair tie, hair swivel or by using a hair attachable fascinator. These units serve as temporary hair replacements for special occasions such as weddings, balls, pageants, page decals, etc. They give a more natural and beautiful look and are suitable for people of all ages and hair types. They can be used on any part of the body including the face, chest, back, shoulders, and legs. Some people who use hair extensions for hair replacement for special occasions or events claim that they provide superior results compared to other hair accessories such as hair pins, hair clips and hair ties. It is important to know how to care for hair extensions before and after you have applied them to your hair. Care for hair extensions looks very easy, but this is not always the case. Depending upon the application technique you adopted, you can either damage or relax your hair after you have applied the extensions. In case of hair extensions, you should keep them away from heat sources and use a hairdryer on a low temperature to detach them from your hair. You can also blow dry them to remove extra moisture, if you want to wash your hair without causing damage to your extensions. However, if you want to wash them to make them look clean then you should shampoo them carefully using water and a mild hair cleanser. You can also clean your hair extensions at home. However, before doing so you must first gather all your hair extensions from one place and then unpack them from their packaging with care. You can either do this by hand or with the help of a hair-extension removal tool. After you have washed your hair, you can start with washing and drying it in small sections. Small sections of your hair extensions can be taken out from your hair by using small scissors to separate a section from your hair. However, if you want to pull and separate large sections then you will need a hair-extension removal tool such as hair extenders with movable bits to cut sections of your extensions. This will prevent your hair extensions from tangling up. Hair extensions considered semi-permanent There are four common types of hair extensions. These are bonded, sewn-extensions, clip-in hair extensions and full-lace hair extensions. Bonded hair extensions are considered semi-permanent because they last for only four months. Sewn-extensions, on the other hand, are considered semi-permanent because they last for eight to twelve months. Clip-in hair extensions There are many different kinds of clip-in hair extensions available. These are generally used by women who don't have thick hair to allow them to braid extensions in their hair easily. These are usually available at any beauty salon. However, not all hair styling salons offer this service. You can either order your own clip-in hair extensions online or you can go to your local hair salon where you can get a professional hair styling.
