Aaron Wainwright hopes his versatility will help him develop as he hopes to impress Wayne Pivac, winning a place on the Welsh team in the test matches this summer.

Dragons Wainwright, the back lane player, has 29 caps for his country and his last appearance was on the 8th bench against Italy in the 2021 Guinness Six Nations.

Wainwright made his debut in 2018 and he also added a wing to BT Murrayfield's defeat of Scotland before Pivac's men would win the title.

Six Nations are discussing television rights with the BBC and ITV

Wales will compete in three summer competitions and will host two Canadian and Argentinian competitions in Cardiff in July, but with the British and Irish lions heading to the South Africa Tour, Wales will have few players.

The remaining two Rainbow Cup matches with the Glasgow Warriors and Leinster will appear with the Dragons, and Wainwright believes he can fill Taulupe Faletau vacancy in 8th place.

"Choosing myself is definitely my goal," Wainwright said in the Welsh hope.

“The game is now in the Principality, so I'm looking forward to it, but I will only focus on the next two games against Glasgow and Leinster for the Dragons.

“I really enjoy playing there, in the past two games. I was definitely the eighth player to play the best rugby. I feel very comfortable behind the scrum.

“It's good to be able to play six and eight rounds and switch between the two, I hope I get the chance to play there, I just want to play well.”
