Winter travel in Germany could be extremely cold but breathtakingly beautiful. One of most popular times of the year to travel in Germany would be during the four week period of Christmas at early December. Yes, it gets darker earlier (around 5pm or so) but the brilliant lights, decorations, and wonderful Christmas markets really more than make up for it during this period. Depending on where you are traveling within Germany, you may find that the best time of year is spring or fall depending upon where you are traveling. These are the ideal cities for you to spend your vacation, because they are filled with wonderful sights, great nightlife, and tons of things to do!
