So what is an activist? By definition, it is someone who fights for social change by any means necessary. It may seem like a broad concept, but the truth is that there are many different subcategories under what is an activist. Activists can be organizers, writers, politicians, or peace activists. Each has their own unique type of activism and they all work towards the same goal: social change through any means necessary. The political activism that most people associate with is politics. From every president to every senator, everyone seems to have a political opinion. Some people vote, some show up at town hall meetings, and some just make donations to political campaigns. While most people are apathetic when it comes to what is an activist, the truth is that many do not realize just how much of an impact their beliefs and actions have on the world around them. One of the first sub-categories of activists is organizers. Activists can be organizers of various sorts, including loose coalitions, committees, and student groups. An organizer is someone who see the bigger picture and makes sure that all of the pieces to get the attention they need to get. This person knows how to effectively lobby for change in any way possible. They have a strong belief in the power of change, and they work hard towards it everyday. Another part of what is an activist is writing. There are many different forms of writing, but the two most common are creative writing and non-fiction essays. Activists use their writing skills to make political statements about what is wrong and what can be done to fix it. However, other forms of writing are sometimes used as well. When people read about a problem or issue, they often write essays to try to contribute to the conversation. Writing and speaking are also part of what is an activist. Sometimes, when people need to be heard, they will tell their story in a way that others can hear them. Writing is just one way to do this, and it is often the first step in creating change. Activists can also organize events to tell people about their issues. Speeches often speak more about the larger issues that people face, rather than just a personal story about one's own life. Sometimes what is an activist is doing all of the above. They might work on issues that directly affect people, like putting together fund raisers. Other times, they might put together PR campaigns to promote causes and make people more aware of issues they might not have known about before. Whatever the case, though, activists are working hard to make the world a better place, and they often have a lot of dedication. Some other types of what is an activist include writers and artists. Activists can be writers, as well, although not all writers are environmentalists or do work with environmental issues. Activists can also be artists, with a wide range of subjects. agency of artist that you think you would be most comfortable with, though, will likely be a political activist. There are some artists who choose to express their views politically, and some don't seem to care about what they say, but do choose to work within their chosen field of art. So, to sum it up, what is an activist is a person who cares about something and maybe doing some kind of activism. There are also people who believe that they can do something good for the world and be seen as an icon. Activists are everywhere, and often they are very creative in the way that they fight for social change. There are many different types of activists, and they all have very different goals, but they all are part of a larger movement that is working to make the world a better place.
