One of the most wonderful tropical destinations is the Fiji Islands. Situated about 2000 kilometers to the northeast of New Zealand, Fiji is an island nation in Melanesia, in the heart of the South Pacific Ocean. It consists of an archipelago made up of more than 330 islands of which 110 are inhabited and there are more than 500 islets. Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are the two major islands where around 87% of the Nation's population is concentrated. The Viti Levu Island consists of the capital and the biggest city, Suva.

Fiji is known by another name, 'Soft Coral Capital of the World'. However, Fiji has more than that in its underwater diversity like colorful coral fish, hard rocks, pelagics like barracuda, wahoo and walu, tuna, reef sharks, turtles, manta rays, and what not! Fiji is the most favorite site for the diving-lovers of the world, because of its colorful marine life. Divers from all around the world visit Fiji to enjoy the diving holiday all-round. There are dive resorts, dive lodges, sailing cruises, liveboards, and even small motorized cruise ships to enjoy diving from every angle of it. And during the no-diving season too, Fiji has many, many activities, in both the land and the waters.

The world's best Rainbow Reef is situated in the Somosomo Strait, which divides the two islands, Tavenui and Vanua Levu, and is accessible from both. The rich coral magic-land, coral fishes and pelagics have been fed by the ocean water flowing through the strait, which is rich in nutrients. Don't forget to visit the Great White Wall, the reef's world-known dive site. Tavenui is the third largest island of Fiji, and is having rainforests and waterfalls and also rare species of birds and flowers. Bouma National Heritage Park here is wonderful and so also is the Vuna Archaeological Park. You can enjoy a lot of sports, deep-sea and game fishing. And of course you can enjoy the world-class diving at Rainbow Reef.

Another most beautiful diving site of Fiji is the Great Astrolabe Reef. It is accessible from the east of Kadavu and Ono Island. The island of Kadavu too, is a wonderful destination, full of marine and terrestrial diversities of the Nature.

Another picturesque beauty among the diving sites is the Bega Lagoon, which is to the south of the main land. It is well-known for its shark-feeding dives. On the Pacific Harbor there are many resorts to stay. Here there are a lot of dive operators, who offer daily trips to Bega Lagoon.

The Pristine Reefs are famous too and are given visit by the divers staying on small islands in the Karo Sea. Some of the reefs are at far and are accessible only through liveboard. Naia is one such island.

Namena Reefs are around the Namenalala Island, and can be accessed by boat from Savusavu.

Throughout the Yasawa and Marnancua Island group, there are diver sites. Some great diving can be done here too. The Yasawa Island group is a wonderful adventure destination. Staying in small local resorts you can enjoy an awesome holiday here with fun and adventure.
