Kate Middleton continues to wow in her fashionable chic ensembles, the most latest in a classy black McQueen coat.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Annual Remembrance Service held Sunday, Nov. 8, at Whitehall in London, wearing a chic patchwork coat by a late favorite designer, E!News reported. The 33-year-old royal mother of two wore a black double breasted coat, with felt and velvet patchwork accents by designer Alexander McQueen. The designer, who died in 2010, was popular among celebrities. The creative director of McQueen’s fashion house even designed Princess Kate’s iconic wedding dress in 2011.

Apart from the black patchwork coat, the Duchess of Cambridge also wore a black hat with a butterfly accent and a small mesh veil. Sunday’s event was held to honor the British veteran soldiers and fallen troops. Prince Harry and Prince William, along with Queen Elizabeth II, also attended the annual event and laid wreaths adorned with red flowers at the soldier’s memorial.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, the royals also attended a Festival of Remembrance held at London’s Royal Albert Hall. According to Us Weekly, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by Prince Philip and the Queen, gathered to applaud the touching tribute and performances made during the event. Princess Kate was her usual fashionable self, in an elegant black lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Meanwhile, Prince William looked handsome in a dark blue suit with a striped red and blue tie. The royal couple both wore a red poppy to honor the veteran soldiers and fallen British troops.

Aside from touching speeches, the night’s festivities included performances from Andrea Bocelli, Gregory Porter, Rod Stewart and Pixie Lott, Mirror reported. The celebrities shared the stage with the Royal Marines Band, the Queen's Colour Squadron, the Royal Air Forc’s Central Band and the Band and Pipes of the Brigade of Gurkhas.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry was moved to tears on Sunday when an American marine gave him the dog tags of a fallen British soldier, GRAZIADRESS.com reported. Prince Harry was a bit choked up when he told American marine Kirstie Ennis that he can’t accept the token. However, Ennis was adamant and insisted the 31 year old prince to accept the late Corporal Baune’s dog tags, who died in 2012.

"Please, you know what this means to me,” she said. “I want you to [accept it]."
