If you are interested in building business processes in big corporations, you definitely came across the ETL abbreviation at least once. 

Big advanced intercontinental companies implement the ETL process to get reliable reporting. The biggest problem with reporting is that it is obtained from disconnected sources (like CRM, ERP, and many more) and is treated without unification. Imagine what a mess can happen with 20 offices across the globe!

Here the ETL is the answer. It is a highly reliable way of treating the data. All data from various sources is transferred to the dedicated data warehouses. There the data is transformed and somehow unified. Those transformations are very intellectual and complex. But as a result, the reporting is correct and can serve as a basis for making crucial global decisions. Most companies outsource the ETL process design and implementation, which is quite logical considering its complexity.
