The Washington Redskins are down another tight end. Redskins coach Jay Gruden announced Saturday that tight end Logan Paulsen will have surgery Monday to repair a turf toe condition. He is out for the year. Watch out-of-market games Paulsen suffered the injury in practice last week and traveled on Tuesday to meet with the specialist. Gruden's announcement comes two days after starting tight end Niles Paul suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Gruden said Saturday that Paul's loss is "a major blow." The loss of Paulsen and Paul leave the Redskins dangerously thin at tight end. Jordan Reed has missed 12 games in his first two seasons due to injuries and was held out of Washington's preseason opener with a hamstring issue http://www.indiansfansgear.com/carlos-santana-indians-jersey. On Saturday, Gruden showed faith that Reed will be able to stay healthy for the first time in his career Bryan Shaw Jersey. Reed is not a capable blocking tight end at this stage of his career, so the Redskins will need somebody to step up. Chase Dixon, Je'Ron Hamm and Devin Mahina are all in the mix for snaps.
