Tips To Consider While Choosing Marble Pool Copings

You have many options to consider when choosing a durable and beautiful material for your waterline. Concrete pavers used to be the leading choice, but marble pool copings have become more preferred for their elegance and durability. Marble pool copings can transform your swimming pool into a timeless and sophisticated area for fun, leisure, and exercise. They can elevate the value of your home, too. Choosing marble copings should be easy when you follow these tips:

• Look for a reputable supplier – Find a local premium supplier of natural stone pavers and talk to their natural stone specialists for assistance when choosing the right style and color of marble pavers and pool copings for your property. Reputable suppliers are able to sell cost effective marble copings because they directly source their products from known quarries instead of relying on a middleman or another retailer. They can send you free samples of the marble copings that you want, too. This way, you know exactly how the material will look on your pool and with your landscape.

• Identify your type of project – Determine whether you are building a new pool or remodeling an existing one. Remodel copings may help you save time when upgrading your waterline to a more elegant material because they eliminate the need to demolish the existing copings, and they can easily be overlaid for an easy and quick fix. Remodel copings often have a four-inch turn to cover all kinds of damage, blemishes, and a previous uneven work.

• Go for tumbled marble – The tumbling process removes loose parts and sharp edges from the natural stone without removing the natural characteristics of marble. Tumbled marble pool copings offer enough grip and friction underfoot to prevent slipping and falling. Hence, you can make your pool line safer and less prone to accidents.

• Determine the shape of your pool – Standard bullnosed tumbled marble copings are ideal for uniquely shaped swimming pools with a lot of rounded curves. Premium suppliers offer them in a size that is 4” x 9” x 1.5” to avoid waste. The copings are small enough and do not require bigger cuts, but they are large enough for a cost effective installation. Bullnosed copings are ideal for stairs, too.

If your pool is more rectangular in shape, go for marble copings that are 12” x 12” x 1 ¼” or 12” x 24” x 1 ¼” in size, so they can easily be applied to straight edges.
