Posted by Ricoh on December 7th, 2015

The history of camera can be traced much further back than the introduction of photography. The evolution of cameras from the dry plates to the birth of film, camera technology seems to move fast. In late 1920s the SLR high end cameras were introduced creating buzz in the market and now camera is one of the basic features that one looks for while buying smart phones. The next leap in field of cameras is here- 360 degreed photography, capturing more than a visual, it creates a 360 degree field of view where you can navigate easily.

Ricoh Theta S is an example of the rapidly evolving technology in the field of 360 degrees photography. It expands the traditional fields of 360 degrees photography and is an improved version of Ricoh Theta, launched two years ago and solves the minor issues and meets with the technological advancement over the gap of these two years. The Ricoh Theta S houses dual 1/2.3-inch 12MP sensors which give a 14MP equivalent output and functions with the focal length of 1.3mm. The API of the camera is based on Google supported Open spherical camera API, which is readily compatible with Google’s services. It uses proprietary ultra small twin lens folded optical system. It lets you shoot full HD videos at 30 fps for a good duration of 25 minutes by just shifting the camera mode from the right hand side. It has a 8 GB internal memory storage. It comes with special features like Auto, Shutter Speed and ISO priority modes. The spherical images shot from the revolutionary camera can be uploaded to a common platform theta360.com and can be shared on social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and can also be posted to Google Maps with the view of helping people with lack of sense of direction. It uses wide-angle lenses which compile together the 360 degrees view. The perfect placement of dual prisms folds the light on the top and bottom. The image processing is an internal feature of this high end Mirrorless camera like other technologically advanced ones. The improved Digital Compact Camera is four times faster than normal cameras with improved image quality. The appropriate implementation of the innovative solution could be beneficial to industries like real estate, architecture, events and travel.

The evolved version of photography is all set to revolutionize the field of capturing moments and makes you relive the memories in a way better than ever. Go ahead, shoot the Theta way.
