California's Crown Jewel: Squaw Valley

Squaw Valley, home to the world-renowned Squaw Valley Ski Resort, is one of the crown jewels in the Lake Tahoe region, drawing thousands of visitors every season, including nearly half a million avid skiers. Also known as Olympic Valley (the town was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics), the former gold mining town became the central location for winter sporting events in 1942.
