HOW TO CREATE A WOODEN SLAT FEATURE WALL - using acoustic panels from The Wood Veneer Hub - [ vlog]Posted by Sweeney Abildgaard on June 12th, 2021 [, Music ]. I am absolutely obsessed with them. I cannot hey guys and welcome to my channel and welcome to a brand new vlog. Now this video is my first video i've come over from instagram and i run the blog thehomeslog.com. If you follow me, there you've probably already seen this feature war feature all over my feed. So what better way to start off my youtube channel than a vlog about the wooden panels? This look is all over pinterest and i'm absolutely obsessed. I came across a company called the wood veneer hub that do these decorative wall. Slat panels already made up so no stress no mess. So without try this site . Let'S get into, we are getting some paneling from the wood veneer hub and it will go here. So there's going to be, i think one two and a half panels, or maybe three i'm not sure, and then those panels that are going to go here are going to act like a headboard um, but also make a bit of a feature on this back wall. Here, um - and i want it a darker color, i think, to contrast, um the built-in wardrobes and the hidden ensuite, which is behind here and have pendant lights instead of bedside tables, so bedside tables we're gon na still keep our bedside tables uh, but not have the Bedside table lights. What we will have instead is hanging pendants which will hang through here. I'Ve ordered some um concrete effect. I think they're, actually concrete um cylinder ones. So i think that will look quite cool for the five that i'm going through here and then this one here. This is just um, an old lampshade which we'll be getting rid of we'll, be changing this whole light, but we'll be shifting it over because, where we've had the built-in wardrobes and hidden ensuite, that's brought in is encroached into the room, so this pendant here isn't central. So we'll need that move. So it's a bit more central into the room. There, [ Applause, ], [, Music, ], oh [, Music ]. They are all in these panels. All of in actually the last two was a lot easier than um the first one. I think we got a really good system going on, but i am just absolutely in love with these, even like just on this side, even if we didn't have them as a headboard, and we just had them like here on half a wall um. So i'm out of breath from moving these, they weigh a ton they're just oh they're, just dreamy. They make your eyes go funny when you stare at them, but this is the gist of what the panel would look like. Obviously, we need to cut that to size because it's just a teeny weeny weenie weenie bit too too tall too long. So in the meantime uh we are waiting for george, our electrician he's coming today he's going to be preparing the wall for the electrics uh. He needs to add in some wiring move a few sockets and add some switches. So until he's done that we can't move forward with the paneling, but he's coming today to do most of the work and then he'll finish that once the paneling has been installed, uh, yeah so very exciting and um. I will keep you updated of course. So i know it's late, but i wanted to show you. George has just finished, bless him he's been here five hours, i feel for him, but he has managed to get the wiring in he's channeled out where the switches are going to be going and he has moved the sockets. So the sockets are on either side of the bedside tables. He'S moved them over so that the paneling can sit in and then he's also moved the ceiling light across for me so that it's central to the pendants. I'M so pleased that we made the decision to move this light a little. It'S only a few centimeters, but it's made a great big difference. Uh it's grounded the space made. It look a lot more balanced uh with it going to be central to the headboard. So yeah, i think i'm going to get some sleep because tomorrow it's install day so night morning, so today work starts on getting these panels here. [ Music ] excited [ Applause, ], [, Music, ], oh [, Music ] excited so they have just finished the carpenters. They'Ve done a fabulous job and they have the these little um. What are they called screws in place for a moment? These will these will come out, but i just need to leave it there until the glue dries. Obviously, while the glue dries is to stop the wood from bowing because it's so hot and so humid, obviously with wood, i'm talking like i know, i'm an expert, it's not it's because they explained to me: what's happened, but basically because they're mdf and the wood they Um, expand and not contract in the heat, so stop this. These screws are to stop them from bowing out. So, yes, they can be removed once obviously it's all set in place, but they've um. They had to cut down one of the panels and you will never. You wouldn't even know that they've had to cut down the panels, the uh, how straight they've got that line is incredible, so craftsmanship at its finest and yeah, and then we've got this side as well and obviously, like i said, they've really um neatened it up around The covington too so just for the pendants now to come, and the sockets and this room will be [: Music, ], complete [, Music, ], [, Music, ], uh, [, Music ].
