Hi everybody and welcome back to our Channel today we're going to show you the construction aspect of building a kind of a cool little bench like this one. Here I think the total cost to build this bench was about about $ 8. So stick with us and we'll get set up, get our materials together and we'll get started so for our construction. These are the pieces that we're going to use. We have. This was 2 8 foot long two by fours cut into the following sections. We have two pieces that were cut 44 inches. We have four pieces that were cut 18 inches. Those are going to be the legs and two pieces that are cut 11 inches. This was all of the scrap left from 2x4. So it's always good. When you can maximize the use and have very little throw away, and then for the top of the bench, we're going to use these two 1 by 8 by 6 foot reclaimed fence panels that I got for free. I found someone taking apart their fence in the alley, so I'll be right back when I get the construction set up. Ok, so here I've got the basic set up in place, so we are again using if you watch our other videos we're using a Kreg, jig pocket hole system. You can see I've already pre-drilled the holes here, and these are the legs for the bench, and this whole unit is going to be one of the end pieces that then the pieces will go across for the seat to sit on. So basically, you want a little brace here. The legs set up. This pushed up against there so that when you try to push these screws in, you have something to hold that tight. So I'm going to assemble this piece and then the the piece on the other end and I'll show you the end result before we go to the next step. Oh and just a reminder, I had forgotten to mention that we always put our square in the core. So that look at this web-site end up straight 90-degree angle: okay, I'm gon na proceed. Okay, so, as you can see, here are the two end pieces for the bench, and so now we're gon na take the 44 inch ones, 44 inch pieces and we're going to attach them across. Here I'll show you the setup in just a second okay, so here you can see, I have the legs up on their side and the whatever I'd call it the long piece, the long piece here setup, and so I'm gon na push the two screws in there And then flip it around and do the same thing on the other side and then flip it over and put the other piece from here across and I'll show you that when it's done okay, so as you can see, we have the base of the bench. All put together, you can see the Kreg jig holes and they're all on the inside, so that there will be no visible screws on the outside of the frame. So now I'm going to cut a piece across the middle here to act as a support for when I put the top boards on. So I'm going to get that cut I'll, show you the top boards and so here's the finished construction. We hope you enjoyed watching this video. We hope it'll, give you the confidence to try a project like this yourself and, as always, we hope you'll subscribe share with your friends and give us a thumbs up so until next time we hope you have a great day.
