WizKids/NECA, LLC is an American corporation centred in New Jersey that chiefly made its mark in the gaming business creating collectible miniatures war-games. WizKids was acquired by and is a subsidiary of National Entertainment Collectibles Association. The company was started in the year 2000 by Jordan Weisman, an expert of the game company FASA. It was bought by sports-card manufacturer Topps, Inc. in the year 2003. Topps was, further picked up by Michael Eisner's Tornante Company and Madison Dearborn Partners in the year 2007. WizKids was acquired by NECA in the month of September in the year 2009. WizKids creates both certified and 1^st party games. Most of the games used by WizKids comprise of patented elements like the Combat Dial System. WizKids offers both physical items, like HeroClix, as well as digital transcriptions, like Quarriors for IOS.

HeroClix is a collectible miniatures game that utilizes the Clix system that focuses on the world of superhero comic books, mainly the Marvel & DC Comics universes. Players create groups of comic book stars, antiheroes, or characters from different video games series such as Street Fighter, Gears of War, and Halo and involve in a turn wise battle on grid maps grounded on various storyline places. The Game was initially intended and produced by WizKids, but was withdrawn in November 2008 when WizKids owner Topps closed down their HeroClix line. In September 2009, collectible toy producer National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) bought some of the WizKids' intellectual property from Topps, with the HeroClix rights and then shortly began to create and sell new HeroClix series.
