This is the first level of certification and shows that you have a comprehensive knowledge and awareness of the LEED rating system. You will be able to look at the building as a whole system. This means that you will be able to examine both the big picture and the details. You will discover the effectiveness of insulation, analyze the mitigation of stormwater, analyze water and heating systems, and even consider access to public transportation. As you can see, LEED considers everything. When it comes to energy efficiency, you have to be able to look at every single angle.
Once you go through LEED training and get your certification, you will be in a position to move up in the design field. Employers love to see this certification on resumes. Not only does it show proof of a valuable knowledge and skills set, but it also shows that you are self-directed and that you care about your career and your environment. It will prove to employers that you are the variety of workers they want on their team.
LEED Accredited Professionals have in-depth technical knowledge of green principles. They can specialize in a specific LEED rating system, such as operations and maintenance, homes, building design and development, and neighborhood development. To become a LEED AP, the candidate must have worked on a LEED-registered project within the last 3 years.
