A million dreams in one's heart, a thousand milestones to cross, a hundred nights spent studying for the boards and a few percentage points short for HINDU. That’s the story of every DU aspirant, and we’re talking serious numbers here. One of the most prestigious, aspired and respectable *co-ed* colleges Delhi University has to offer. With cut-throat competition, with students varying in cultures as well as talents, with co- curricular at their pinnacle and academics just at par, Hindu isn’t just another “overhyped” institute, it does guarantee a future a little brighter with the right efforts.

The alumni of Hindu College call themselves Hinduites, and they stand tall in public esteem. All the alumni of Hindu College have a firm belief in the institute and its curriculum. The alumni, as well as students, have been excelling in the chosen areas of their interests, be it academics, sports, or extra-curricular activities. Some of the famous alumni’s are GautamGambhir, Arjun Rampal, Arnab Goswami, MeenakshiLekhi, PrithviNathDhar, RekhaBharadwaj etc.

Hindu College is recognized as one of the premier academic institutions in the country. The college is ranked among the top colleges in India for humanities, science & commerce. There are more than hundred faculty members. Hindu has been awarded the 'Star College' status for the DBT - Department of Biotechnology, by the Ministry of Science and Technology of India.Hindu College was established more than a century ago in the year 1899, by Late Shri Krishan DassjiGurwale. The prime objective of the founding heads of this college was to give rise to an educational institution was to start a college that would, while being non-elitist and non-sectarian, provide nationalist education to the youth. Hindu is the only College in Delhi to have a Students’ Parliament since 1935, which in fact, provided a platform for many national leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, Annie Besant, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and Subhash Chandra Bose for inspiring the youth.

The Hindu College Parliament is a one of its kind student organization in the entire nation. Its members include all the students and teachers of the College. A Prime Minister is elected annually at the beginning of the year by the students. There also exists a Leader of the Opposition in the Hindu College Parliament. The College Parliament is a forum for discussions on academic and other issues. It is an excellent training ground for public speaking and leadership qualities. It allocates funds to the various societies. The College houses an extensive and excellent playground and a sports complex. Cricket, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis and Basket-ball events are organized in the college under the direct supervision of the Director of Physical Education. Be it the street play society's conviction or the dance societies talent. Hindu students remain to be at the top of the ladder and outshine their competitors on a daily basis.

The College also has a rich collection of books and journals in its library, well-equipped laboratories, the NSS and NCC Rooms, etc. It has large lawns, a good infrastructure and the college premises are housed in one of the prime locations of the North Campus of the University of Delhi, well connected by the Delhi Metro. It also has one of the finest auditoria in Delhi, a state-of-the-art seminar room and its very own canteen which is as famous for its foods as it is for its discussions. The College provides a liberal, lively and competitive environment that enables its students to carve out a niche for themselves in their chosen fields. Besides the infrastructural facilities, the strength of the College lies in its congenial and enriching atmosphere, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the excellent record the College is renowned for. The Hindu College Delhi is devoted to imparting the leadership and direction for the times ahead in every sphere of human enterprise and endeavor.
