A Dermatologist Melbourne Medicare Plan That Works

Posted by glassstreetclinic on June 17th, 2021

What's it going to be like being a dermatologist in Melbourne Medicare? It appears that it is a lot harder than it was a few years ago. I remember many years back when I could walk into any clinic in the city and see any number of doctors. Now, I have to search out the best one to treat my specific needs.

The Australian Health Practitioner Registry (AHPR) has made finding a doctor much more difficult. You are required to fill out so many applications each year that the list of approved doctors becomes somewhat bloated. This makes it difficult to find one in a reasonable amount of time. There are many hoops to jump through to even receive an application filled out by the AHPR. Some of these hoops include:

The "examinations for eligibility" become an important part of the process. If you do not pass the first time around, you will likely continue to fail until you find the right AHPR dermatologist. In many areas, the requirements are so strict that they require you to have had a minimum of eight visits with your dermatologist during the past year. These are strict criteria and must be followed to the letter.

I recently visited a very good Medicare dermatologist in Melbourne that takes pride in their work. I was presented with many issues throughout the visit by the doctor. At one point she asked me if I have any questions. I assured her that I did. After all, this visit was a follow up to my last visit.

I had many concerns with this particular dermatologist. She did not seem knowledgeable about the many types of skin disorders that I do not have. Many of her questions centered on oily or dry skin and it seemed like she could not keep up with the latest technology in this area. All of the information I provided was complete, concise and easy to understand. The Medicare guidelines provided with this doctor were easy to comprehend and she was quick to correct me when I was wrong.

When I first went to this Melbourne dermatologist, I was scheduled for three different treatments. Three different sessions of five hours each. After receiving the same initial treatment from all three dermatologists, I received treatment for a total of nine hours. During my first visit, the dermatologist informed me that I do not need additional treatments at this time as there were no new findings. This was comforting, but I still wondered why she recommended five hours of treatment.

After completing all of my required treatment appointments and consultations, I was informed that I do not need any more treatments from this particular dermatologist. The follow up session was just the same as all of the other follow ups. Nothing new was shared. Now, several months later, after completing two more pregnancies, I am scheduling additional consultations with the same doctor. I asked her why she no longer recommended five hours of treatment and was told that my condition was similar to one in her past patients.

I want to point out that dermatologists in general are my best source of information when it comes to my skin care. I personally have taken care of my skin since age twenty, prior to receiving my first treatment from this doctor. I can honestly say that the treatment she provided for me was the best thing that ever happened to me. Her treatments are affordable, confidential, and provide immediate relief.

Unfortunately, I was not recommended to use her services by my primary care physician. My regular physician had prescribed numerous different medications for acne, and while some worked for me, others did not. For this reason, I sought a dermatologist with a great deal of experience in treating acne. This dermatologist was the right person for me, and I highly recommend her services.

The next dermatologist that I saw was a bit different than the two before. This doctor was much more upbeat and professional, and he offered a range of treatments for my various skin conditions. As we chatted over the phone, I learned that he had received his education through the coursework of the Media Institute for Drug Evaluation, which is an international organization dedicated to improving the pharmaceutical industry. He went on to complete an internship at the University of Melbourne, where he received his Doctorate degree. After school, he worked for Generex Corporation, a biotechnology firm that produces products to help alleviate many health problems. He then went on to work for Medix again as a consultant, working with several top pharmaceutical companies, including Generex.

These are just two of the dermatologists that I saw during my time at Medix. The one that I most enjoyed working with was Dr. Samir Melki, a board certified dermatologist. As soon as I had my first appointment with him, I knew that he was right for me. His treatment plan included both prescription medications and a range of topical products, all designed to provide my skin with the best possible resources to fight acne. I was able to see results in just a few weeks, and now have clear skin thanks to a very affordable dermatologist Melbourne Medicare plan.
