FIRST YARD SALE HAUL OF 2020 | Vintage Home Decor + Resale Finds

Posted by Helms Capps on June 18th, 2021

Hi there welcome back to my channel today, i'm excited to film, for you guys the first yard sale haul on my channel this summer, uh spring summer season uh because of quarantine and things like that. Um yard sales have been few and far between. So i went to a couple i don't know, maybe a little while back or one actually a while back. I got a couple things that i'll share with you and then just recently this past weekend. I guess i um like last weekend doesn't really matter. I went out to a couple as well so they're starting to be, you know, come more frequent, which i'm super excited about, because i love yard sales but uh. Let me just hop right in and i will share with you what i picked up. Okay, so i will start with the ones the items that i picked up a while ago at the yard sale that i went to probably in beginning of july. I'D say i found this piece here. It is a green sort of pottery piece there. It'S stamped japan on the bottom. It also has a sticker that says horizon canada on there and it's full of crazing. Let'S see, can i there we go it's full of crazing, it looks really beautiful. It'S got this lid uh with a cork sort of stopper thing. So i'm not exactly sure what this is. So, if you guys know what this is, let me know in the comments i see myself using it as just like a boss, probably with you know not probably without the lid. Just as a vase like that, i love the coloring there. So if you guys know exactly what this is, i don't know if it's like some type of potpourri jar or i have no idea. So if you guys do know, let me know in the comments below but this item here, plus this rooster here, it's a um like a porcelain, piece and uh. This is the little tag that was on it. So it's it's new with tags, but old, i would say um. It says le cook d'amour, which is like love rooster and then on the back there. It says glux han on there or something like that anyway. Yeah luke's han probably pronouncing that horribly wrong. But it's written in i wan na say maybe i don't know what that is german or dutch, or something like that - i'm not sure uh, but then it's also written in french and it says printed in portugal imported from or portugal. So anyway, i think it's sort of like a traditional type thing in portugal. It'S like a love rooster or something like that. I don't know it's supposed to represent love. I guess so. I got that plus that little vasey thing plus a um hand, make sure mixture mixture hand mixer that my dad had been after. He had wanted a vintage hand mixer. So i found one for him, which i was super excited about, because i've been on the lookout for one for a long time. So all three of those things was five dollars, so um together were five dollars and um yeah. I thought that was pretty good finds. I was really excited because they um advertised it as like this huge huge, like multi-family yard sale. So i was really excited to go. It was pouring rain the day that i went so they had things sort of like under tents and stuff, so it wasn't ideal, but i was just happy to go to a yard sale. So that is that, then, last weekend i went to a yard, sale and picked up two things and uh. The first one is this set of candle holders. Here they are uh wedgewood made in england, and i got that pair there. I will likely resell these they're. Not entirely my style but they're in excellent condition, so i got the two of these for um four dollars. I think yeah, or was it five dollars anyway uh a decent price? I think so. I will resell those um likely online and then, at that same yard sale. I picked up this sweet little brass box and it's made in italy. It'S a teeny, tiny, like pill box, and it's got this beautiful design on the front there with little sort of mosaic pieces all in the shape of flowers. So really pretty, and i believe this is called italian mini mosaic. I i'm pretty sure, but anyway i found this box and it was two dollars, so they had a lot of great items at that yard sale, but they sort of knew what they had and they were um. You know asking a lot, not a lot but a fair price for all these items, and i really like to find a deal so um. I passed on a lot of things, but anyway then just this past weekend i went out and saw a couple yard sales and picked up some things. So the first thing i picked up was another rooster: i'm not a huge fan of roosters. I don't know why, but um they seem to be popular online for reselling and stuff. So i picked up this ceramic rooster here. Uh, it's got some paint wear, but i think that's. Okay, just probably means that it's old, it's got a whole bunch of crazing throughout, but no chips, no cracks or anything like that, and, unfortunately, there's no marking or anything on the bottom. That'S okay! There was likely, i don't know, a sticker on there at some point, but um it's a pretty decent size. You know roughly the size, not the size of my head, but a little bit smaller than my head and i liked the colors in this rooster actually um. You know with the darker there with the yellow like a pale yellow. I don't know, i really thought that was quite cute, so i picked that up there, for i don't really know how much this was. I can't remember i want to say maybe like oh, i know i think it was 50 cents. She had actually a huge collection of roosters and picked that up for 50 cents. Then this year i actually got free. I went a little bit later to the yard sales and one of them already had a table set out. That said free, so i picked up this sugar and creamer set here pretty floral design on there uh, blue and white. check my source thought that was really nice. It says japan on the bottom: there there's no chips or cracks except there is, i think they were maybe chipped or cracked during production, because they've been glazed over someone's glazed over them. So there's a little piece there that has like a little chip there, but it's it's um. You know not rough or anything. It'S been glazed over. So that's in the creamer and then here in the um sugar bowl uh. This part here looks like a big chunk. Was broken off and then you know put back on somehow, but it's also glazed glazed over. So i don't imagine these were like hugely high quality when they were made, but i just really liked them for the design. I thought they were cute. I thought somebody else might like them as well, so i put that up there that pair and then oh, i got this for free. It'S this pretty little um like frame here. It'S got um little tulips on there, so i thought maybe miriam. My daughter would like that uh really pretty so i picked that up for free and then also i picked up this huge book, an art book. It says the picture history of painting from cave paintings to modern times, and it's this huge one here and it's got great pictures in it. It'S got um. You know great uh history, lessons about different artists, there's van gogh in there and um hogarth tiapolo um. You know a whole bunch of renaissance, i don't know really neat sort of history and there are black and white colors. There are pictures. There are also um pictures in color and stuff like that, so this was on the free table, so i was sure to pick this up makes a great like coffee table book or something like that. So that was free and then let's see oh yeah, i found two figurines. They were 50 cents a piece and at one sale where's, the other one. Well here she is there's two little sweet figurines. So this first one here a little girl there with this sort of like uh burgundy sort of peachy colored dress. I thought this would be good for uh fall. Decorating. She'S got a beautiful little umbrella there. She was 50 cents she's made in. I think hong kong. Oh, no, sorry, korea. This is like sort of like a reproduction type piece, but still vintage, because it's made in korea, but it's not as old as some of those other figurines are it's probably um in the 80s i'd say so: that's that there and then there is this little sweet. Uh thing that's also or not also, but this one's unmarked and it's probably sort of like an 80s reproduction type piece of little figurine and um. This is it here this little boy with the little you know: woodland animals there with the brown overalls. I thought that would be cute for fall. Decor so picked him up as well for 50 cents, then also at that sale. I picked up this sort of beautiful round deep red uh doily. This was a dollar actually. I think i asked for 50 cents and i got it for 50 cents, so um this. That'S this piece here really nicely made. I feel like it's sort of recently made. I can't really tell the age on it, but um just feels a little bit newer to me. If that makes sense. So that's that there and then the last thing i picked up at that sale was [ Applause, ], a big tray. I'Ve got some stuff on it, so i'm just gon na move this without breaking anything. This christmas tray here, i thought, was really quite cute, so this is it here, just a whole bunch of little kids decorating a christmas tree outside i loved that scene. So i picked that up. This was a dollar, but i asked for 50 cents for that as well, and this one here was made in hong kong. It says: potpourri press the company of choice 1989., so i got that for 50 cents as well. Now i just wanted to at tack on at the end here some things that i picked up from my friends here on youtube during their live sales, just a couple of vintage items that i cleaned during their live sales, so the first one i shared on um Instagram - and they are these mugs here - they are so lovely they're, actually a little smaller than i thought, but i i like that. I think that they're so sweet either two little sort of pottery mugs. Here i love that green glaze, so because there are a pair i wanted to use one as sort of like a um little planter. So i just have this fake plant here right now that i got from the dollar store. I just have that in there right now, but i thought that looked so cute. I could put that on a little shelf in my new uh office and then the other one i could use to uh drink out of it. It'S quite small, so maybe um when i make a little decaf coffee at night. I can have it in this, so that is that there, that was from alex at chapter two vintage co. I'M gon na link her channel down below and then these little pieces here, they're so sweet. I got from cindy at mimi's treasure cottage and they're. These little um santa claus heads very sweet on these little sort of pom pom greenery pom pom things here with little red berries. I thought that was so cute i'll use that for chris um crafting around christmas time, so that's there. I will also link uh cindy's channel and then this book here i absolutely love i got this a while ago, but i forgot to share it or didn't get the chance to share it, and it is this walt disney, mickey mouse, uh and his spaceship book. This is from 1952, and you know me: i love disney, especially vintage disney, so kelly from moss stone story. Vintage um sent me this. Our ma stone stories, vintage sent me this and i just thought it was super cool. Apparently it's like first edition, which is kind of neat and uh, so she sent me this. I was really happy to get that and then, let's see, is there anything else? Oh yeah, this sweet little zebra that i got from michelle at cozy comfy living this guy is just so adorable. One of you guys noticed this in one of my videos just sort of sitting back there and yes, this is from michelle. I got it at a live sale, so she sent it to me and i just think that is super super cute. So there you have it. I hope that you guys enjoyed this video, a little yard, sale.
