Cyber Security, many of us wonder what is a need for securing online content, information or data. But ask someone who spent his major years in creating high-value confidential information important for the business which is just a click away from being exposed, causing a huge chunk of loss. Ergo, in the present business environment, one must not underestimate the value of confidential information, as affirmed by the Best Criminal Lawyer In Dubai. Cybersecurity is an arrangement in a document determining the valuable cyber assets needs to be shielded from specific dangers. Moreover, it determines those dangers and the method for managing them and criminals performing such activities. At the end of the day, a digital security approach is an explanation that portrays all exercises towards guaranteeing digital security inside your association.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has declared the dispatch of the new UAE National Cybersecurity Strategy. The new technique expects to make sheltered and flexible digital infrastructure in the UAE that empowers natives to satisfy their yearnings and engages organizations to flourish. Importantly, Federal Law Number 5 of 2012 regarding Cybercrime Law, governs the unlawful obtainment of confidential electronic information through various means. Wherein, electronic information is defined under the law as any information available on electronic or IT Device used by any private or public company or any individual. The law further prohibits any information saved in any device or desktop, unless requisite consent has been obtained to collect such information. Apart from the preceding, UAE does not have an explicit data protection law. Nevertheless, data security is governed under several legislations as follows:

  • The Federal Law by Decree Number 3 of 2003 in regards to the Organization of the Telecommunication Sector, which manages giving insurance to all information got through electronic correspondence.
  • Dubai Law No. 28 of 2015 on the Dubai Statistics Center turning away the disclosure of any sensitive statistic information
  • Federal Law Number 1 of 2006 regarding Electronic Commerce & Transaction applying electronic exchange and trade, yet not for individual issues such as marriages, inheritance, and alike.
  • Law No. (4) of 2016 concerning Dubai Economic Security Center – uncovering data including state security, and the punishments for abusing such protection that is viewed as classified

The foregoing legislations are applicable to all companies registered within the UAE regardless of mainland or free zone. However, the law is also applicable to companies registered outside the UAE, who commits any cybercrime. Consequently, an association should expect to build up protection strategies should there be any danger to confidential information of the company in the future as it will assist in ascertaining upcoming dangers.
