Six SS16 beauty predictions by make-up maestro Wendy Rowe

As the artistic consultant for Burberry Beauty, Wendy Rowe and her effortlessly cool approach to make-up helps to define the look of each season. Here she shares with us her top six beauty runway to real life predictions for SS16 (spoiler alert: contouring's still a thing).
Metallics, both on the eyes or lips, looks set to be a big trend for SS16. The high-impact gold lip created by Pat McGrath at Prada was one of the standout trends on the runway, with metallic blue hues also out in force on the eyes at DVF and Dries Van Noten.
For a more subtle, wearable take on the trend, try using Becca Eye Tint in Golden Bronze. Apply an iridescent, metallic wash all over the lids.
Wide open eyes
With lips the main focus at a lot of the SS16 shows, there was a definite trend towards complimenting the lip with a barely-there, wide-eyed look. My top tip for achieving this look is to use a Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, to really open up the eyes and create a brighter feel to the look.
Top tip: Make sure to get right to the roots of the lashes before you begin to curl and squeeze three times for maximum effect.

Statement lips were all over the catwalk for SS16; from reds at Victoria Beckham, pinks at Marchesa and berry tones like the lip I created at Burberry using their iconic Oxblood shade. There’s no question that a bold lip is going to be a big trend.
My top tip for carrying off a statement lip, whichever colour you go for, is to make sure that your lips are well prepped before you start. I love Decleor’s Intense Nutrition Balm to keep lips hydrated and smooth.
Flawless skin is always in fashion regardless of season. Good skin is an important base for any make-up trend and my philosophy when it comes to skin is to work from inside out.
I recommend using a supplement such as Skinade to give the body a boost of micronutrients. Skinade, works to improve the hydration and texture of the skin for a younger, more radiant look.
Effortless, dewy highlights on the skin are a great way to update your look for SS16 and it was a trend I noticed all over the runway. I created dewy, satin skin on the girls at Burberry using one of my essential backstage products: Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Golden Radiance No.02.
I like to use it on the areas that would naturally catch the light, such as the tops of the cheekbones and bridge of the nose, as well as on the décolletage.
Sporty chic is having a moment right now, with slicked back hair and sport-luxe styling being complimented by a natural contour as the main focus for the make-up. To keep the look fresh and understated, subtle contouring is key. My backstage hero product has to be the Burberry Contour Stick, £25.
Use the Contour Stick to create a shadow effect in the crease of the eye socket and underneath the eye, under the cheekbones and the jaw line blending out well for a natural-looking, sculpted finish.
