Ron Virmani : While in Amsterdam I wanted to sample its famous nightlife

While in Amsterdam I wanted to sample its famous nightlife. I asked Ron Virmani whether he could suggest a few worthwhile places. He immediately told me to go to De Pijp, which much to my surprise turned out to be a working class district in Amsterdam. The thing that makes De Pijp so worth visiting is the fact that it is home to some of the best nightlife action in all of Amsterdam.

Ron Virmani told me that at one time this part of Amsterdam was quite rundown and shifty. Today, this district is a far cry from what it once was and it is in fact very busy as well as popular.

De Pijp has a very high concentration of bars and restaurants. It is also an area that is attracting the young and well heeled. De Pijp also attracts people from different parts of Amsterdam. If you are looking for a drink then it is highly recommended that you visit De Pijp.

Since this part of Amsterdam is so popular you should not be surprised to find people dressed in suits discussing various material things. Even so, this is one of the coolest areas of Amsterdam and I am glad that Ron Virmani recommended it to me. In the summer months it is particularly interesting as you can see people drinking on the terraces and the entire atmosphere of the place reminds you of a village. Don’t be surprised if cute young girls wave to you and say hi in Dutch.

The best time to visit De Pijp is around nine in the evening. This might not be the time that most Dutch people have their dinners but there is still plenty to interest you.

Ron Virmani also recommended that I visit a place called Bazar, which is a huge restaurant that serves Moroccan food. The restaurant is located on Albert Cuypstratt, which also happens to be the street where you will find the Albert Cuyp market. This market is well known for its cheap clothes and vegetable and fruit vendors.

If you are a devout Christian then you may not like Bazar but it is the perfect place for an Epicurean. The Ghorak in particular is worth savoring. The serving is huge and it only costs fewer than ten Euros. The nice thing about this restaurant is its international crowd.

Overall, I am glad that I followed Ron Virmani and his recommendation to check out De Pijp. There are so many restaurants her that serve the more than 80 different cuisines from every corner of the world. You will also see many Surinamese and Indonesians in this part of Amsterdam. Thank you Ron Virmani for your recommendation!
