Spend Delightful Sailing Holiday with Friends in British Virgin Islands

Looking for something new and exciting to do with friends for the Holidays? A sailing tour of the British Virgin Islands might just be the break you need. This stretch of naturally stunning islands with their white-sand beaches and scenic wharfs, harbours, and crystal waters is a major feature of the Caribbean. If you want something to fill your vacation dates with fun, adventure, and exotic sites, sailing through any of the 25 islands is worth considering.

Cooper Island is a great place to kick off your sailing trip. It is located some 6.5 nm from Road Town, only a short trip across Sir Francis Drake Channel. Due to west is Salt Island, which is a great place for day moorings. Here, you can spend your day swimming and snorkelling before setting sail to Copper Island and pick-up your trip through Manchioneel Bay for some stunning views of the west islands.

Virgin Gorda Island is also worth visiting if you want more nature to explore. Situated some 5 nm from Cooper Island, the west edge of Virgin Gorda is home to The Baths, which consists of a marvellous arrangement of boulders that form caves that you can explore. Provided that sea conditions are good, these boulders are definite must-sees. However, if caves are not exactly your taste, you can always head to the island's north shore, where a cluster of smaller islands offering spectacular snorkelling sites can be found. North Sound is where you will find a great mix of resorts, scenic anchorages, and restaurants, around a scenic marina. Allot 2 days to make the most out of your time on Virgin Gorda, before heading off to Marina Cay, located some 10 nm away.

Marina Cay rests among three larger islands, namely, the Great Camanoe, Beef, and Scrub, each worth exploring on their own. This area of the British Virgin Islands is among the most scenically breath-taking and is secluded enough to help you savour a quite escape. Eighteen nautical miles from Marina Cay is Cane Garden Bay, yet another picturesque location that is considered one of the prettiest on the island. Notable is its crescent-shaped beach covered with fine white sand and dotted by swaying palms. This is a great place to enjoy island nightlife, sample Caribbean cuisine, and embark on an entire range of adventurous pursuits on and off-shore. Great Harbour is also worth a wander, along with The Bright, both of which offer great snorkelling and scuba diving spots.
