How to Choose an iPhone Case

Not everyone is fortunate or moneyed enough to afford an iPhone. If you’re one of the lucky ones to have an iPhone, it only makes sense that you take good care of it. And one way to ensure that it would last long and retain its beauty is to use an iPhone case.

There’s no shortage of options when it comes to iPhone covers. There are lots of iPhone cases to choose from. There are the so-called bumper guards, the holster-type, and shell-style case. There are also skins, pouches, flip cases, and armbands.

With all the options that you have, how do you choose a case or cover for your smartphone? Here are some tips to keep in mind when shopping for a dapper iPhone case.

1. Regardless of the type of iPhone case you choose, whether it is a fashion iPhone case or a walnut iPhone case, make sure that it won’t block the parts of the phone like its speaker, headphone jack, microphone, and dock-connector port. You should also check and ensure that the camera lens, light sensor, and proximity sensor up front are not blocked.

2. Consider your lifestyle. Do you use your iPhone to keep track of your runs? If you do, then you know how difficult it is to hold an iPhone while running. The armband-type case is what you need. This type of cover offers shock resistance, moisture protection and more importantly, convenient carrying. You could also opt for a slim case with clip-on design which lets you clip your iPhone on your belt.

If you want a cover or case where you can store some cash, credit cards, and even an ID, look for the flip case or wallet-type cover. This type of cover provides complete protection to an iPhone although the downside is that it is a bit bulkier than other iPhone cases.

3. Consider your budget. Just like in any other purchase you’ll make, you need to consider your budget when shopping for an iPhone cover.

There are many options you have in case you don’t have a lot of money to buy an iPhone cover. You can settle for a bumper case that is like a protective band that protects the edges of the phone. It won’t provide the same level of protection like a flip case can, but it does protect the phone against drops.

You can also opt for a sleeve or pouch cover, although you’d have to pull out your iPhone from this type of case to be able to use it.
