5 Fun Word Games to Play With Kids

My kids LOVE games of any kind. But, as a tired parent of three kiddos, there are a LOT of games I hate. 

Most games require time for set up and clean up, which takes energy from parents that can sometimes be hard to find. Who truly wants to do this? Not me.

That's why, today, I've got a solution for you! Here are five fun word games that are FREE, and require zero effort to play. You'll love it!

1. Play I Spy

We'll start with the oldie, but goodie. Most kids (and adults) love this game, and it can be modified to include shapes and textures to make it more difficult for older kids. Doing it in a moving car also adds a tricky element to the game.

2. Play the Never Have I Ever Game

See a HUGE list of clean never have I ever questions for kids HERE and play it anywhere! We particularly love it for long car rides and I've found out some truly interesting things about my kids this way.

3. Play This or That

Want to know what your family really loves? Give them two different choices (they could be reasonable OR outrageous) and see what they pick! This gets funny rather quickly too.

4. Complete the Story

Sit in a circle or just take turns telling a story. But here's the catch - each person can only say one line to this story. By the end it's a truly eventful plot and adventure. It's also a great way to use your creativity and imagination.

5. The Quiet Game

When in doubt, and when mom and dad's sanity has been tested, don't forget the quiet game. Yeah, it's not supposed to include words. But, sometimes we all need a little silence, and this is still a super-easy way to have fun with your kids.

In Conclusion

There you have it! Five crazy easy and rather simple games to pull out when it's time to have fun as a family.
