Airplanes Are Filling Up And Tickets Are Getting Expensive

Americans making plans for their summer vacation trips are about to discover that airfare is near or even above pre-pandemic levels, according to the nation's major Cheap Airlines Tickets.
Executives from most major airlines said the recovery in domestic leisure travel is here. That means yields, which measure how much passengers pay for each mile traveled, rise more than airlines had predicted.
"Domestic leisure [travel] will be restored to 100% in June, with [...] bookings above 2019 levels and yields essentially recovered," Glen Hauenstein, president of Delta Air Lines, said at the Wolfe conference. Research.
Airlines are being cautious about returning more flight offerings too quickly, especially since leisure fares booked well in advance of travel are not as lucrative as business travel booked at the last minute.
Business travel and international travel have yet to return, although airlines said they are seeing signs of a future recovery there as well.
