How has education been affected?

Before the pandemic hit the world, students and teachers could engage in the classroom. Schools are not just mean for studies, but it also helps students expose to a new life different from home.

Sadly, the pandemic turned the tables upside down. Studies reveal that a total of 1.725 billion students have been globally affected by the sudden closures of schools and higher education.

Similarly, the UNESCO Monitoring Report states that 192 countries had gone for nationwide lockdown, affecting 99% of the world's total population.

Though the online learning solution providers are doing their job well, it is no doubt that students have been deprived of many things.

But, today, with the coronavirus cases rising, there is no other option better than learning on digital platforms.

How have countries reacted to online learning?

Online learning or being tech-savvy is not everybody's cup of tea. But the situation around the world demands it. Almost every country has found out ways to cope up with children's education.

Early back in 2012, eight countries were leading the race in online learning. The United States, India, China, South Korea, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa were ahead with digital knowledge.

But today, every country has found out its way of transitioning from the offline to the online form of learning. The education solution providers of different countries have played a significant role in making it possible.

Examples of Some Countries

In Argentina, Educ. ar, an educational portal of the Ministry of Education, has been responsible for offering curated resources in the digital format for teachers, students, and administrators.

In Bhutan, the Ministry of Education launched its e-learning program. It allows students from primary to higher education to access lessons on a digital platform.

In India, e-learning portals like the DIKSHA, e-pathshala, NROER, Swayam, and Swayam Prabha have been helping students from kindergarten to post-graduation to enable online learning.

 In Japan, many ICT-based distance learning portals are helping students cope with the pandemic situation. The online learning solution are trying out every possible way to make digital learning a smooth process.

In Korea, online platforms like EBS and KERIS deliver educational content in video and textbook format. Many other platforms help children with learning.
