FURTHER WAYS OF DEALING WITH OVERSTRESS

You must give your body adequate time to repair itself and regenerate feel good hormones. If you are having symptoms of overstress such as aches, fatigue, and pains, anxiety sleeping problems, lack of enjoyment of life, depression. It is time to give your body a chance to heal itself. Every morning make a list of what you want done, then cut off the bottom half of the list.

 

Lighten up your loads. Let someone else do the holiday dinner for the family or send a representative to the birthday bash. Only go out once this week. Say no a lot often to request from others of your time. You really do not have to be nice to your detriment.

 

Postpone the redecoration of your house. Remember, change is stress. So relax, postpone any big changes or moves for a while.

Postpone redecorating your apartment or home.

Postpone moving to a new house or apartment. Making a change in your living environment even if it is one you are excited about, is a major stress.

 

Reduce the number of hours you spend at work or college. If you are a workaholic this is time to reduce the energy the energy drain you are placing on your body. Working more than 40 hours a week adds stress to your life.

 

Keep your blood sugar steady. People who are overstressed almost always use sugar as a pick-me-up. Their blood sugar goes up and down wildly. In order to feel well you must level out your blood sugar avoiding the ?sugar highs? and ?sugar lows?. Take your sugar in the form of complex carbohydrates such as rice, pasta and bread. Eat more vegetables and you should take adequate multivitamins and minerals.

Avoid allergies. Allergy is a major source of stress for some of us. If there are things that trigger your allergies, avoid them.

Start an enjoyable exercise and rest yourself. There are ways to rest yourself like dancing, listening to music, reading, working on a craft etc.
