Passenger Elevator coming from the outside

And, crucially, Dravid told the starry-eyed kids that even they could reach the high levels required, and very soon at that. “He said Passenger Elevator coming from the outside, but we can still catch up by the time we’re 23 or 24,” said Luthra. “If we train hard and do what is needed of us, if we do that, everything would fall into place.”

The Canadian team is used to vastly different conditions. Cricket is a part-time hobby for them, unlike the teams of some of the full-member sides that are fully devoted to the sport. Given the lack of popularity of the sport in Canada, they can’t afford to commit fully to cricket. They have to juggle cricket and studies. And when they practice, weather conditions for the most part restrict them to indoor training. All of this contributed to making their World Cup trip a huge learning experience.

Despite the challenge that the World Cup poses, though, it comes with juicy perks as well. “We’ve seen him (Dravid) a couple of times in the hotel,” said Luthra with a big smile. “He once went in the elevator with us, and we were just standing there gazing … that’s it. Nothing else. We were just looking at him. We couldn’t even say anything. Couldn’t say hi or bye.

Elevator Factory a big thing. We have all seen him on TV, scoring so many runs for India, and suddenly, he’s there in an elevator with us. It was kind of like a reality check – we realised then that we were at a World Cup!”
