It is interesting that if we combine electricity with gasoline we may get system of future vehicle. A lot of experts predict that by 2020, 10% of all cars will be hybrid vehicles which will have gasoline and batteries system.

Today the most hybrid vehicles use an internal combustion engine for driving the vehicle and generate electric power, which is stored in the accumulator. The battery gives low speeds to the car.

Chevy Volt is expected to be one of the most popular hybrid models. It produced by General Motors. Moreover, GM suffered from financial losses and went bankrupt during the economic crisis of 2008.  It is recovered and hopes that hybrid cars like the Chevy Volt bring profit to the company in the next few years. Chevy Volt will run on electricity for about 60 kilometers. Then, the gasoline engine car will continue to go. Chevy Volt can run about 560 kilometers on one charge and tank of gasoline

GM uses a different approach than most hybrid car manufacturers. Gas is used to produce electricity. GM engineers say that this method is better, because it uses up to 15% less energy. The new type of battery used in the Volt. okessay.co.uk

Tesla is a new car manufacturer of California. She released a sports car Tesla Roadster. It costs more than $ 100,000. The company stressed that more than 1,300 Roadsters are used throughout the world, which can reach speeds up to 200 km / h. It can travel nearly 400 km before recharging. It is really good offer for consumers.

Fisker Automotive is also a new automaker on the market. The company is based in California. Their sport car Karma runs on electricity as Chevy Volt. In addition, a car has solar panels on the roof. It helps to extend battery life.

US car makers think on how to make the diesel engines more economical. Diesel produces more energy when it burns and there is a strong smell from the engine. Therefore, gasoline cars are still the most popular type of car in the United States. The American car manufacturers make diesel cars mainly for the European market.
