Horror Movies - Get Entertained with Fright

Have you ever watched scary movies and simply ended up disgusted? Or perhaps you’ve been scarred for life just because the movie was all too bloody and gory. It’s interesting to try to understand where that concept of the scariest horror movies comes from and what makes Scary Horror Movies truly scary. For some, all they require from scary horror movies is the blood and the typical saw machines, machetes, or barb-wires; for others, scary movies are all about the psychological effects and the trauma a simple doll scene creates in their mind. Even the smallest unique setting of a horror movie can set it apart from anything else, despite its cliché scenes. Take the Wrong Turn movies for example; the only reason those movies are scary to me is that I live close to a deserted forest so when I see that hot chick getting axed in two, I can’t help but tremble, first because, well, she’s hot, and second for the obvious reason that it’s in the woods. Off the record though, there’s something about hot chicks and horror movies that will never ever get boring, am I right? I just kind of wish they died less often.

As a lover of scary horror movies though, I stumbled across the ScaredToWatch site and needless to say it’s already my first bookmark. Why, you ask? It’s simple. Personally, I spend more time looking for scary movies than actually watching them; so imagine my disdain when I’ve spent hours looking for the perfect not-so-gory and not-so-foresty scariest horror movies and I end up crying from boredom. I seriously hope boring scary movies don’t become a thing; oh God. Anyway, upon visiting the site I see this beautifully placed landscape picture of a movie that was picked by the site’s staff; this time it was a beautiful girl chained to the heater and I couldn’t help but check out the movie. Moreover, the site has created its own rating system that’s based off of three attributes: jump, scary, and gore. I already like this because I can just browse movies and turn the gore preferences way down to decrease my chances of getting disappointed. But wittiness aside, the home page is full of scary movies referenced either as the top 5 gore movies, or the top 5 jumpscare movies, the latter I guess is a combination of jump and scary, but that’s not all.

Every movie icon looks great, has a compact –looking synopsis and every movie is rated based on these 3 attributes. Scrolling down I see more categories like the recently released horror movies which is a big advantage since I can skip googling ‘horror movies 2015’ and just check out the category instead. At the top is a very useful search bar and the overall design of the site isn’t only appealing, it also works in resized windows which can’t be said for many sites. Another interesting category is the news, where the best horror movies 2015 are displayed and news regarding movie reviews, movie critics, and impressions are also posted. The forums, perhaps the most helpful in my opinion, make room for the scariest horror movies all based on user reviews and opinions. Whether one’s simply looking for scary movies or the scariest horror movies, it’s all there. I can freely say this site is extremely useful in helping me decide what movie to watch and the way the site is overall designed makes me want to keep browsing and give my own opinion in the forums, regardless if I am pleased or not.
