Modern day housewares and furnishings still largely reflect the styles of the past. Accoutrements, on the other hand, have become more streamlined to create a more contemporary look. The design and form of modern metalware pieces are generally far cleaner and more geometric than that of iron or metalworking. Modern metalwares and accoutrements still reflect the design priorities of their creators, but they also exhibit an awareness that even the simplest house furnishings should not only be beautiful and elegant but functional as well.
