You have been prepared to proceed from your present job in the construction, environmental or engineering area for a while because you feel underpaid, stuck in a rut, or unappreciated. Showing up at a job site is something which you've been doing due to duties and even those barely get you out of bed and into work. Recently, you've spent time required job searching, going to interviews and have handed in your resignation only to have your boss gift you with a counteroffer, so that you will not leave. However flattering the counter offer when you put in your resignation. You should not take it for these reasons. 1. There's an underlying reason you wanted to leave your work in the ecological, engineering or construction businesses. It could be a lack of improvement opportunities, the general sense that the career path you're on won't bring you the results you desire, miserable working conditions, poor management and/or burnout. Even if the counteroffer includes remedies for the difficulties you're experiencing it might just be a matter of time until your unwanted feelings return. 2. Many times, if the boss believes the timing of your resignation to be inconvenient for them, they are going to want to wait till it is best for them to flame you. So, if the company is heading to the holiday, busy season or you're working on a big project, they will want to offer you a promotion, more money and/or other perks since they don't wish to devote the time and money on hiring and interviewing your replacement at that moment. Once the holidays, active period or project passes the corporation doesn't longer have a reason to help keep you . 4.
