Indian dresses for kids are much sought after these days. This is in sync with the current times as the wedding season is in its full swing. Anyways, Indian culture makes room for a number of family functions every now and then that call for tempting Indian wear. How do you go about choosing Indian clothes for kids? What are the things to keep in mind and what are options available? We have a comprehensive list that would be instrumental in helping you make a good choice. Have a look:

  1.        Kids lehenga: The first and perhaps the most obvious choice to make an appearance on our list is the kids lehenga. There are a number of options available from high street to designer. You can even design it yourself if you are able to get the fabric and required materials. Lehengas for kids should be simple yet stylish. This could be done by playing with colors and prints. Remember, kids lehengas can have some really cute prints that adults can and can even work with a few colours. Be wary of the cuts though and opt for lighter fabrics. We would also suggest not investing a huge amount in picking up a designer kids lehenga. It would be of no utility after some time.
  2.        Kids salwaar kameez: Another indispensible option on our list is the evergreen salwaar kameez. There are innumerable options available in this category right from anarkalis (that look super cute on kids), straight suits, Patiala salwaars and even straight collar suits sans dupatta. The best advantage of opting for kids salwaar kameez is the ease and comfort it offers. The colours, prints and designs and embroidery of course, play an important role. If you go for blingy top, go for a subtle bottom.

  3.        Sharara: If you want your kid to stand out in the crowd, go for a customized sharara and accessorize well with cute kids accessories. Go for bold colors with subtle cuts to make your kids Indian costume stand out.
  4.        Dhoti-Kurta: Young boys look very cute while donning a dhoti kurta. We can’t stop gushing after young kids wearing this traditional outfit with their own panache. We also love the costume coordination that a lot of people opt for with their kids. Remember, groom coordinating the same dhoti kurta with a small kid. Doesn’t it look adorable?
  5.        Sherwani: While talking about Indian dresses for kids, how can we keep the oh-so-fabulous sherwani out of the list? Young kids look adorable in beautiful and intricately embroidered sherwanis. You should go for fabrics that are light on the body but look rich if choosing for a big function like weddings. Think on the lines of brocade and banarasi silk. Team with a nice pajama or chudidaar. You could even supplement the sherwani with kurta pajama with a nice dupatta to keep it simple yet stylish. It reduces the cost significantly as well.

Kids Indian costumes look very pretty and eye catching especially because kids are so confident in what they wear. Therefore, do not drown them with something that they are not comfortable with. If you get that right, we are sure the Indian dresses for kids will take care of everything else. Trust us on that!
