Indoor air matters a lot compared to outdoor pollution as we spend most of the time inside concrete buildings.  These buildings are occupied by many contaminants which we invite unknowingly from our day to day life.

It is said that out of 10 every 1 house in the US has radon emissions and radon is a harmful contaminant that can cause severe problems like cancer and other health hazards.  I am not scaring you but that is something alarming and we need to give a thought on how we are dealing with indoor air.

Toddlers and elders are the age groups who suffer a lot from indoor pollution as they have no other option than staying indoors.  What about chemicals, toxins and allergens that surround you?  Do we have any concrete solutions to these problems?

Here a few tips that you can implement to bring fresh air into your home sweet home.

  • Plant trees like Neem, banyan, if you have extra space around your house, if not you can try other plants that can purify the air. They will let fresh air indoors while you keep your doors and windows wide open. Proper ventilation is the key to having fresh air and to get rid of odors.
  • Use natural ingredients to clean your kitchen and floors.  A few stuffs that you can use to clean kitchen utilities are: white vinegar, tamarind pulp, charcoal ash and lemon juice.  For cleaning the floor you can use warm water or 1 part of vinegar mixed with 10 parts of water.  These substances neither give allergies to your soft palms nor emit harmful toxins into the air.
  • Spray some water before dusting or use a damp cloth to do the work as it will protect your eyes and lungs and at the same time help to dispel them completely.
  • Choose artificial products that contain less harmful substances. You see I have mentioned less harmful and that is because every product contains something harmful so it is better to completely avoid it or chose the safer one. Examples are nail paints, perfumes, luxury mattresses and air fresheners.
  • Install pots with green friends so that your home can become a happy place to live and you will be able to breathe fresh quarts of air.
  • Lastly I would recommend installing an air purifier after testing the air quality either by professional help or using air quality test kits.  Testing the air quality will help you to understand what is to be mended and how much.

Conclusion: I hope that at least a few reading this will seriously take things on hand and start cleansing air indoors. Your health is your concern .

Air purifiers can also help you to maintain clear out without pollutants. Some of the prominent air purifiers are Airpura air purifiersAlen air purifiers and Allerair air purifiers
