Bed bugs are small brownish creatures which are oval shaped with a size that of an apple seed. They suck blood of humans and animals to survive. Their bodies swell after their meal and look reddish in colour. These tiny creatures cannot fly and they lay around hundreds of eggs in their life span. Their eggs are not visible clearly and resemble like dust so it is really impossible to identify them.

Bed bugs require blood to mature and to fully grow into an adult and they just require a month for the whole process if all the factors are favorable. They can easily move around walls, ceilings and floor and due to that they can infest the whole house quickly.

From Where Does A Bed Bug Come?

Bed bugs are common and can be found anywhere right from your gym to supermarkets.  They get easily attached to luggage, clothing and used items like furniture’s, mattress to make their way to your homes. They easily fit into tiny spaces to conceal themselves so they get good cover. Moreover they have flat bodies which help them to hide easily. Bed bugs are nocturnal creatures and they move around at night to feed on their prey. Once they get their prey they feed for around 2 to 3 minutes to fill their stomach and leave no marks other than causing a red hive without a biting spot.

Few Tips To Avoid Bed Bugs

  • Remove your shoes outside
  • Seal all cervices and open cracks in the wall and floor
  • Remove all the clutters that you have kept inside your house
  • Routinely wash all your bed linens and pillow covers using hot water
  • Give your luxury mattress a sunbath  periodically
  • Use mattress covers or encasements which can offer resistance against bed bug infestation.
