Get Back On Track With a Personal Fitness Trainer!

One of the most honest assessments for most of us is that we are procrastinators. We will delay and wait as long as possible, especially if lifestyle changes are what needs to be done. Take, for example, the need to exercise more.

We are a nation of people who sign up for local health clubs, buy all the expensive equipment, and then proceed to go round and round the parking lot looking for a nearby spot so they don't have to walk that far. Come on, you know it's true! Who hasn't seen people in every store traveling the equivalent of several miles in search of that fair and close parking spot?

However, one thing that seems to work is getting the services of a personal fitness trainer. Fitness trainers are typically found in almost every gym but can be reached by simply calling a cardiologist. Many highly skilled and trained lifestyle people are associated with cardiologists. By the way, cardiology is the cardiologist, which is what we will all need if snacks are not replaced by healthier foods. ha ha ha

A fitness trainer Austin will create a health and exercise plan that will then be monitored to check on your progress. By having someone hold us accountable, the potential for success is greatly increased.

While we are on the topic of success, we must also practice what we preach and enforce the same type of healthy lifestyle in the rest of the family. After all, didn't someone once say that misery loves company? : o)

Seriously, here are some ideas that can help all of us and our families regain some shape other than "round."

1. Explain the difference between healthy and unhealthy food choices, but NO NAG. The idea is to make better decisions most of the time, not to be perfect!

2 Prepare healthy meals. Ditch the burger and taco races and call that dinner. One of the biggest problems with our diet is not that we eat too much, but that it is the wrong type of food. And those kinds of wrong foods are in most cases sold by profit-seeking corporate conglomerates, not healthy customers.

3. Never use food as a reward. If food is a big part of an outing, (popcorn at the movies) start changing that behavior by having other, healthier snacks available. Our family bought candy and oil-laden popcorn at the movies and still did but in much smaller quantities. We reduce the amount of bad food by bringing bags of those little carrots to chew on. Now it is preferred by many of the children and is considered a movie snack!

4. When you can walk to do something, do it. Don't just get in the car for a couple of blocks.

A personal fitness trainer can help a lot with ideas like these. Interview the trainers and find one who isn't interested in changing her world overnight. The best personal trainer Austin is the one who sees progress and works to turn those little successes into big changes in his lifestyle.
