Effect of slide gate and refractory nozzle on molten steel leakage

Ladle nozzle and slide gate are key items in a steel casting system, which must with high quality or it will be very dangerous for workers.

Following are some items that may lead to molten steel leakage

1. Nozzle well block
Nozzle well block?usually with lower high temperature strength, when changing upper nozzle with pneumatic pick, it is easy to be damaged. Molten steel will flow into gaps and lead to molten steel leakage.

2.Upper nozzle usually with poor thermal stability. When changing ladle, and temperature difference will hurt upper nozzle and result in explosion.

3.Slide gate will bear eroding from molten steel when working. After long time working, and there will be indentation on the slide gate, which will result in gap between two slide gate, and molten steel will let out between two gates.

4.Lower nozzle is easy to explosion. When casting steel, there will be flaw on lower nozzle due to heat stress. The flaw will be very dangerous when casting.
