The Best Exercises to Increase Strength in Arms

Arm strengthening exercises don’t necessarily require the use of heavy body-building equipment that come with high priced tags. Today, most people hit the gym to make their arms strong, toned and muscular. If going to the gym doesn’t fit your schedule, you can pick the best exercises to increase strength in arms. Below are some exercises you can practice at home to strengthen your arms without sweaty workout sessions and use of expensive gym equipment:

Pushups
Pushups can be an effective arm strengthening exercise. They engage biceps or triceps based on your hands placement. A shoulder-width hand placement can be effective for biceps, while a closer hand placement can hit triceps. Traditional pushups involve lying with hands on the floor. When lying, make sure your hands are slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Push yourself using your arm power while keeping your body straight. Slowly lower your back down to the ground. If you find it difficult to push your body weight up or if you catch your butt drifting up, then lower your knees to the ground. If you want to hit the triceps, move your hands closer together or make a diamond with your thumbs and pointer fingers.

Ex-O-Wrist
You can also use an Ex-O-Wrist to improve your arm strength. It’s an adjustable tension exerciser typically designed to increase hand, wrist and forearm strength and mobility. It’s compact in size, and easy to carry during travel. It’s a great exerciser for beginners, pro body builders as well as athletes who rely on strong grip. You can use Ex-O-Wrist in a number of following ways to strengthen your arm muscles:

Forward twist: Extend your arms straight leveling your shoulders, and hold the Ex-O-Wrist horizontally. Pull towards your body while twisting the Ex-O-Wrist in a vertical position ending with the right hand below the left hand, and then return to the starting position.

Overhead twist: Extend the Ex-O-Wrist horizontally above your head keeping your arms straight. Bring down towards the back of the head while twisting the Ex-O-Wrist in a vertical position. End the exercise with the right hand below the left hand.

Forward wrist twist: To perform this exercise, extend your arms straight at shoulder level while holding the Ex-O-Wrist in a horizontal position. Keep the extended arm in the same position, and move your wrist up and down by rolling the hands back and forth.
